GameCube and Wii share one column in our data. The Anbernic RG477M has the same Dimensity 8300 as the RG557 and a PS2 rating of great, but no GameCube rating, so it is left out of the grid. Details per device:
- Anbernic RG557: great. Held Games describes GameCube and Wii as strong.
- Anbernic RG406H and RG406V: great (Retro Catalog scores GC 85 and Wii 85). The scores on that page were not labeled, so they were matched to systems by order, which makes this rating less certain than the others.
- Retroid Pocket 6: good, from one line on Held Games saying it handles PS2 and GameCube well.
- AYANEO Pocket Micro 2: good (Retro Handhelds), at a high price.
- TrimUI Smart Pro S: playable per Retro Catalog, at the edge of what its Allwinner A523 chip can do.

Retroid Pocket 5 and the GameCube question
People search for "retroid pocket 5 gamecube". The Retroid Pocket 5 (about $200 (retrocatalog approx street price (not official store), Nov 5, 2026)) has a Snapdragon 865, and Batocera says that chip can emulate up to 6th-generation consoles. That includes GameCube. There is no device-level rating for the Pocket 5 in our data, so we cannot tell you which games run well. It is the lowest priced handheld in our data with a chip in that class, and the under $200 list covers its siblings. The same applies to the AYN Odin 2 Portal, Thor and Odin 3, which have no GameCube rating either.
Why the RG35XX family cannot play GameCube
The RG35XX Plus, H, SP, Pro, the RG34XX and RG40XX models and the Cube XX use the Allwinner H700. All of them are rated no for GameCube, and our chip data lists the H700 as struggling already with PSP, N64 and Dreamcast in some games. "Anbernic gamecube RG35XX" and "RG40XX GameCube" searches have the same answer: no. Custom firmware does not change what the chip can do. The same holds for TrimUI Brick models on the A133 Plus (rated no for the Brick Hammer).
Miyoo and GameCube
Searches for "gamecube miyoo mini", "gamecube miyoo flip" and "miyoo a30 gamecube" are common. In our data the Miyoo Flip (RK3566) is rated no for GameCube, the Miyoo Mini Flip (128 MB of RAM) is rated great only for GB to SNES and PS1 and no for N64, and the Miyoo Mini Plus V2 has no rating. The Miyoo A30 is not in our data. A Miyoo handheld is not a GameCube device.
Tariffs and shipping
Prices are third-party figures. For US buyers, small-parcel duty exemptions ended in 2025, a CBP rule of 2026-06-24 suspended them indefinitely for non-postal shipments, and the replacement Section 301 tariff for China is reported at about 12.5 percent, under litigation. See the AliExpress and tariffs guide for sources and what to check on a listing.
Pick by budget
- Pick the RG557 for the lowest price among handhelds rated great for GameCube.
- Pick the Retroid Pocket 6 for a 120 Hz AMOLED and 6000 mAh battery, accepting a single-source rating.
- Pick the RG406V if you want a T820 handheld at a listed price, or the RG406H only if you find a seller you trust at a price you can verify.
- Look at the Retroid Pocket 5 if you want a lower price and accept that there is no rating.
- Do not buy an H700 or Miyoo handheld for GameCube.
