How to read the comparison
Every cell comes from the same data file as the handheld table. A dash means the value is unknown, not zero. The table has six groups: basics, performance, screen, body and inputs, connectivity, and price. The last group lists the emulation ratings for ten systems.
- Differs. A row is marked when at least two of the chosen handhelds show different values, including the case where one is unknown.
- Best in row. For RAM, screen size, battery, sticks and chip tier the highest number is highlighted. For weight and price the lowest is highlighted. Text rows such as chip name are never ranked. A best value appears only when at least two handhelds have a number to compare.
- Ratings. Great beats good, good beats playable. A handheld with no rating yet is never treated as "no".
The address bar updates as you change the picks, so you can share the exact comparison by copying the link.

Why compare in a table
Spec sheets rarely line up. One maker lists weight, another lists battery only, and a third hides RAM in a footnote. The compare tool puts the same fields in the same rows for every handheld, so a gap is visible as a dash instead of being hidden.

Rows with a yellow bar on the left differ. A highlighted cell is the best value in that row. A dash means unknown, not zero. Emulation ratings are provisional.
Questions people ask
Why can I only compare three handhelds?
Three columns fit a phone screen and still leave room for the row labels. For a longer list use the sortable table or the emulation chart.
Why are some prices missing?
TrimUI does not list prices and some other models have no price we could cite. We leave the cell empty instead of estimating.
Does a highlighted cell mean that handheld is better?
Only for that row. A lighter handheld is highlighted for weight even when its battery is smaller. Use the whole table, not one cell.
