The RG35XX Plus, H, SP and Pro all use the Allwinner H700 with 1 GB RAM and a 3.5 inch 640x480 screen, so they play the same systems. Choose by body: the H and Pro add two analog sticks, the SP folds like a Game Boy Advance SP, and the Plus has no sticks. The Pro ($50 (third-party aggregator (heldgames.com street price), Nov 5, 2026)) and the H ($50.32 (Anbernic official store, Nov 5, 2026)) are the cheapest, the SP is $52.19 (Anbernic official store, Nov 5, 2026) and the Plus $65 (third-party aggregator (heldgames.com street price), Nov 5, 2026).

Rows with a yellow bar on the left differ. A highlighted cell is the best value in that row. A dash means unknown, not zero. Emulation ratings are provisional.
Everything that sets emulation speed is identical across the four: chip, CPU, GPU, RAM and screen. The rows that differ are shape, sticks, weight, battery and release date.
What is the same
- Chip. Allwinner H700, four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.5 GHz, Mali-G31 MP2. Our chip guide puts it in the entry tier.
- Memory and storage. 1 GB RAM and dual microSD slots with no internal storage.
- Screen. 3.5 inch IPS, 640x480, 4:3.
- Connectivity. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are listed on all four, and all four list HDMI video out.
- System. Linux. All four are supported by the common custom firmware for this chip family. See custom firmware.
What differs
- Plus. No analog sticks, 186 g, 3300 mAh mAh, released 2023-11. The oldest and the simplest layout.
- H. Two analog sticks, 180 g, 3300 mAh mAh, released 2024-01. The lightest of the four despite the sticks. Listed at $50.32 (Anbernic official store, Nov 5, 2026).
- SP. Clamshell with no sticks, 197 g, 3300 mAh mAh, released 2024-05. The sources list sleep on close and a GBA SP-style hinge. Listed at $52.19 (Anbernic official store, Nov 5, 2026).
- Pro. Two analog sticks, 198 g, 3200 mAh mAh, released 2025-06. Listed with mini HDMI, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2, and Held Games says it ships with a 64 GB card.
Do they play GameCube or PS2?
No. The H700 ceiling is the same for the whole family. In our data all four are rated great for GB, GBA, NES, SNES, PS1, N64, Dreamcast and Nintendo DS, good for PSP, and no for GameCube, Wii, PS2, Switch and 3DS. This is why searches like "gamecube anbernic rg35xx" have a short answer: it is not in reach of this chip.
Those ratings are provisional. They were mapped from scores on a related model (the RG40XX H) and from a Held Games review, and are not measured on each RG35XX. They apply to the chip family, so the RG35XX Plus, H, SP and Pro share one row in the emulation chart.
Do the sticks matter?
For most games before the N64, no. The Plus and SP have none, and 2D platformers, RPGs and fighters work with a D-pad. For N64, PSP, Dreamcast and Nintendo DS titles that expect a stick, the H and Pro are the choice, and the SP and Plus cons in our data say so directly. Stick feel and quality are not rated in the sources.
Price
On 2026-11-05 Held Games lists the Plus at $65 (third-party aggregator (heldgames.com street price), Nov 5, 2026) and the Pro at $50 (third-party aggregator (heldgames.com street price), Nov 5, 2026), and the Anbernic official store lists the H at $50.32 (Anbernic official store, Nov 5, 2026) and the SP at $52.19 (Anbernic official store, Nov 5, 2026) (lowest listed price including any sale, China warehouse version). The Pro and the H are within a few cents of each other, so choose between them on body, not price. The Plus is the most expensive of the four and has no sticks, which makes it hard to recommend unless you want its older body. The Anbernic and Held Games figures come from different kinds of source, so check the current store price. The AliExpress buying guide explains the US duty position.
Which RG35XX to buy
- Pro if you want the cheapest way into the family with two sticks (a few cents under the H in our data) and the newest design.
- H if you want sticks in the lightest body (180 g); its listed price is almost the same as the Pro.
- SP if you want the clamshell for GBA, GB and SNES games and do not need sticks; it costs about $2 more than the H.
- Plus only if you find it below the Pro price or want its body shape; it is now the most expensive of the four.
- Want PS2 or GameCube? None of these. See best handheld for PS2.

Can the RG35XX play PSP?
Our data rates PSP as good on the H700 family, which means many games work but not all at full speed. See the emulation chart.
Can I run custom firmware on the RG35XX?
Yes. muOS, Knulli, ROCKNIX, NextUI and spruceOS all list the RG35XX family as supported. See custom firmware.
